Italy is a small but well-developed country. It is very attractive for education. There are 56 educational establishments, including 47 state and 9 private universities and colleges. It is not difficult to enter the university. Getting education in Italy is prestigious, economy and always in a high demand. Also, it is not expensive to study in Italy: you pay about 500-3000 EUR for 1 year of study in the state university and 2000-9000 EUR for private university. The academic year lasts from November till summer. 2-3 subjects are included into the main course and the rest of subjects are at choice.

Secondary Education

Secondary education in Italy starts with the primary school (scuola primaria). The primary school is obligatory educational stage for locals and foreigners. Children study there for 5 years to go to the secondary school with no exams. The secondary school lasts for 3 years, the age of 11-13 years. It is also obligatory educational stage for foreigners and locals. To go to the next higher level you have to pass exams.

Higher Education

The higher school in Italy is divided into two groups: lyceum and professional equipment. The lyceums play the role of extended school course. Students learn subjects from the main course of the secondary school. Choosing professional education, students learn chosen subjects for 4 years to find the job of this profile in future. Italian diploma is rated in Italy and far abroad.

Education in Italy in Summer

Before you get into the university, you can observe the country and learn Italian during the summer. There are many special holiday programs for kids and adults that can help you to learn Italy and Italian. Summer education in Italy is divided into two types: standard and intensive. Standard course demands to go to the classes at the first half of the day. Intensive course supposes learning Italian for 20-25 hours a week. As a rule, the group of intensive course consists of 5 students. The school is situated in the center of Rome, a couple of minutes walking from the Termini railway station. You can hire a car in Rome and easily get to the right place. If you know Italian well, you can be included into the school classes any time. You may choose group classes or individual education. The intensive course consists of 15, 20, 25 or 30 lessons per week. The classes are conducted from Monday till Friday to last for 2 weeks. The courses usually take place in June and August to be attractive for beginners and experienced learners. The courses start every Monday to last for 208 weeks. You will have classes from Monday till Friday, 4 lessons a day. The educational level lasts for 4 weeks to give you good preparation. You can also choose individual courses or combined courses. Individual course supposes to have every day classes from Monday till Friday, 2-6 lessons a day. The course lasts for 1 week. The combined courses mean group courses in the morning and 2 individual classes with the teacher during the day.
